We have mastered 1:1 correspondence, reading and writing numerals to 20, counting to 100 by ones and tens, how to compose and decompose shapes, we can name 2D shapes and 3D solids.

Let’s get started with Measurement and Data!

This quick video will give you an overview of the unit.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“Another winner! I LOVE your products! Thanks for sharing!”

I am so excited to share that BRAND NEW updates were just added to this math unit in May 2025!

I created interactive digital slides, additional printables, worksheets, math centers and so much more to make this unit even better.

Included in this unit is everything you need to teach the standards for the measurement and data domain.

This is such a fun unit to teach!

You’ll have Google Slides, songs, standards checklists, pre/post assessments, worksheets, no prep activities, plus math games and centers.

I did my best to organize this unit as I do all my math units - so it is easy for you to implement and use.

I keep my math units in three-ring binders.

I use page protectors to keep my lessons and black lines organized – no more filing cabinets to dig through!

I love this because it keeps my papers nice and smooth.

It is so easy to flip through and see what I have to grab exactly what I need.

This is a peek at what I use for pre/post tests for this unit.

The tests are exactly the same, but the numbers, pictures, etc. are different.  This will give you accurate data for growth.

I also send home standards checklists to parents so they have a heads-up as to what we are working on in math.

I do this before all of my math units.

This way there are no surprises at report card time and parents can help at home.

These are great to slip in my lesson plan binders too!

Since there are only three common core standards in this unit, two sheets can print per page.

Introduce this math unit using my interactive digital slides!

Students absolutely love to sing along with my embedded song and video.

They are 100% engaged because I call them up to move the pieces and type the numbers into the boxes.

Providing visuals and modeling is so helpful as we start this unit.

I include both PowerPoint and Google Slides so you can use the version that works best for you.

NO PREP ACTIVITIES AND WORKSHEETS

I have found that they key to success with this unit is practice, practice, practice.

I use a variety of approaches and techniques so my students are exposed to the vocabulary and strategies for solving these problems over and over again.

It is easy for them to mix up terms such as length, height and width... so we do lots of hands-on activities and reinforcement worksheets.

The worksheets and activities help my students tremendously.

They need the repetitive practice, and even better they really love these activities!

These help me stay organized so I know I am hitting all the standards.

MEASUREMENT & DATA KINDERGARTEN MATH CENTERS

8 different centers + stations are included, and you can even print one for FREE to try with your students.

Update: I added two additional centers in 2025 - Measuring with an Inch Worm and Measuring with a Ruler.

These activities are so engaging for students.... it is always fun when they forget that they are learning.

A few require manipulatives, and some you can simply print, laminate (optional) and you're set!

THESE are all of my favorite math manipulatives that I use.

I include a recording sheet with my centers for a few reasons, but the main reason is to hold students accountable.

I can't be at every center at the same time, and so I expect my kiddos to be on task even when I am not there.

A recording sheet is a great check-in with students.

These posters can be printed on a full 8.5x11 paper or card stock, or you can print them smaller in your printer settings and have them on a binder ring.  Whatever works for you!

I laminate them and simply hang them above a work center.

They are a great reference tool while students make their vocabulary books.

I print, cut out and staple them so they are ready to go for students.

Before we do this worksheet, I model for them how to use cubes to measure objects.  Then I send them back to their tables and set out a tub of Unifix Cubes on each table.

We practice measuring our pencils, scissors and a few random objects that I give them.

Then we do this Measure and Record worksheet for reinforcement!

My kiddos LOVE graphing! I spend a whole week collecting data and doing graphing exercises with them.  It is so much fun!
