Welcome! I am so glad you’re here.

I am excited to share with you how I use our favorite read-aloud books to teach the kindergarten and first grade standards.

When students are engaged with your lessons, everything else falls into place.

Learning can, and should be, FUN!

For years as a classroom teacher, I was given 15 minutes a day to teach both science and social studies.

If that doesn’t seem possible… well it wasn’t!

I created this curriculum to make it easy to teach science and social studies through our enrichment read aloud stories and activities each week.

I share my favorite books that go with each unit on the blog posts below.

I also have a PDF at the bottom of this page that lists all the books I use for the entire year.

I love thematic teaching for so many reasons.

Students are so excited and engaged, and the activities correlate with our language arts and math standards as well.

We learn about so much throughout the school year as each unit comes complete and ready for you to teach!

Each comprehensive thematic unit comes with:

  • real-life picture slideshows

  • pocket chart cards

  • anchor charts

  • vocabulary posters

  • printable worksheets

  • activities to correlate with specific read aloud books

  • reading activities

  • writing prompts

  • bulletin board ideas

  • crafts

  • and so much more!

WINTER SALE: for a limited time, you can purchase all nine units for 75% off in this bundle!

Click each unit below to learn more and try FREE activities from each unit.

I love thematic teaching and incorporating our favorite read aloud books into these units.

I recommend four books for each thematic unit.

We read one book each week, and then all of our activities for the week center around that book and/or theme.

This helps students make connections, dig deeper, deepen their understanding and expand what they learned about.

This free PDF outlines the books I use for the school year. Links are included on each individual blog post.
