In kindergarten, we cover all of the math standards with five units.

These units meet all the standards in most states as well as the Common Core standards.

“I love everything about these units! The assessment pieces, the practice pages and the hands on activities are all amazing!”

I have blog posts for every unit where you can print FREEBIES to try!

LET’S GET ORGANIZED!

I get this question on a daily basis, so I am so excited to finally have a blog post about how I keep all of my materials organized, and what hands-on manipulatives I use for each unit.

I used to use binders for each unit, but I had a few problems such as storing the centers so pieces can’t fall out.

I also didn’t like how I couldn’t stack them and it was hard to quickly find what I was looking for.

Finding these bins to keep my units in has been a total game changer. I absolutely love them!

They latch closed, so all the little pieces from my math centers can’t fly out anymore. It is super easy to find exactly what I need quickly, and I love how I can stack them or place them on a shelf.

You cannot beat the price as you get 10 bins! I am switching all of my instructional units to these plastic boxes now.

You can use soft folders like these, or just get them at Target for even cheaper.

I put page protectors in them and that is how I store all my black lines for each math unit.

These are some of our favorite math manipulatives to teach the standards in kindergarten.

I use most of these for the entire school year. If I had to choose eight math kits, these are the ones I would purchase.

HOMESCHOOL AND ALL IN ONE MATH KITS

These kits are a good start, but some manipulatives that I like are not included.

I prefer what comes in the kindergarten and second grade kits the most.

OPTIONAL MATH MANIPULATIVES (THAT WE LOVE!)

Using money and telling time are no longer kindergarten standards. For this reason, these skills are not addressed in my math units.

However, this does not mean I don’t introduce clocks and identifying money. I often use these kits as warm ups.

ORGANIZING MANIPULATIVES

If you follow my stories over on Instagram, then you know I am a huge fan of M Design bins.

I even use these bins at home to organize my closet, my pantry, my kids’ playroom and crafts… all the things!

They are a little pricey, but the quality is worth it to me. Don’t forget… you can add these to your wish list.

OPTION 1: I use these probably the most! They fit my little sight word readers perfectly, and are a great size for so many things in the classroom - especially small groups.

OPTION 2: I love these caddies for my small group table, my desk and they are perfect for your carpet area to hold all your daily supplies.

OPTION 3: I use these for my base ten blocks, sight word readers, flash cards, and snacks in my panty.

OPTION 4: These are so versatile and are bigger bins than the rest. They are great for storing your seasonal books, larger manipulatives, etc.

OPTION 5: I love these for my smaller manipulatives and flash cards in centers and small group time. I love that they stack so nicely.

There are so many more options than the ones I show here, but these are the top five bins I use the most.
